This posting will be used to fill 2 permanent full-time positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

Your role

Working as a Family Support Worker, you will provide home-based support services to families and children. This position assists in strengthening the parent-child relationship by improving parenting skills. Collaborating with the assigned Social worker, and family in devising a tailored case management plan.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Social Worker Degree or Social Services Diploma
  • Experience working collaboratively with parents to strengthen the parent-child relationship by improving parenting skills
  • Experience identifying and assessing risk of families and children using the child protection lens Experience assisting parents in learning problem-solving and coping skills by teaching and modeling appropriate and positive parenting and life skills
  • Experience facilitating groups

  • Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector.
