Job Description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) in the Regina Area is seeking two (2) team-oriented, professional, and fellowship-trained specialists in Adult Critical Care Medicine to join our dynamic and expanding department. These positions are for independent, fee-for-service physicians to provide service in the Intensive Care Units (medical and surgical ICUs) in Regina. Call coverage is be shared with colleagues and Intensivists also share in funds made available from the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program (SECP) for the Department.

Intensivists will be responsible for the care and management of patients in the Medical/Surgical ICUs at the Regina General Hospital, ICU at the Pasqua Hospital, and provision of consultation for mechanically ventilated patients in the Coronary Care Unit at Regina General Hospital. These ICUs provide tertiary-level critical care services, caring for a broad range of patients with the exception of transplantation. Opportunities exist to participate as a Donor Physician as well as clinical practice in a candidate's base specialty during off service weeks.

The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Adult Critical Care Medicine and be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
