Job Description

The community of Radville located in the Southeastern area- Network 8- invites applicants to apply for the position of family physician in a rural family medicine practice.

This physician will work within a multi-disciplinary team in providing primary health care services to the community of Radville and area and will work collaboratively with other medical professionals in the community of Bengough to support the acute care and emergency services for the area. This practice offers a full range of services, which would include admitting privileges and access to primary health care resources such as home care, mental health and addictions, chronic disease management, public health, etc. Acute care referral services are available in the city of Regina which is approximately 90 minutes away.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The successful candidate will be encouraged to become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area.

This position will remain open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

  • The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan
  • The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000

Job Qualifications

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care with the following qualifications:

  • Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
