Job Description

St. Joseph's Hospital, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is seeking a Family Medicine physician with enhanced training in Anesthesia. Scope of practice includes family medicine, inpatient and outpatient care, emergency consults and specialist on-call coverage.

Site visit offered and encouraged for interested applicants.

This position is open until filled and may be filled prior to the posting close date.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

  • The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan
  • The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:

  • licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
  • acceptable enhanced training in Anesthesia (ie: 3rd year residency in Family Practice Anesthesia)
  • valid drivers license
  • ACLS certification
  • successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to 3 acceptable references and an acceptable criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
  • current Canadian Medical Protective Associationcoverage.
  • current, valid legal entitlement to work in Canada. In accordance with Canadian Foreign Worker requirements, preference will be given to qualified Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada.
