Speech & Language Pathologist 4l Medicine

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide SLP coverage for the acute care adult inpatient Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency/Critical Care Programs
• Assessment and management of swallowing disorders and neurogenic speech/communication screening
• Videofluoroscopic assessment and management of swallowing disorders.
• Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, consensus building, peer support and team building.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a busy caseload, and to complete necessary paperwork and documentation effectively and promptly.

Qualifications:

• Registrant in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (required)
• Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology required or equivalent related experience
• Active membership in provincial and national professional associations required
• 5 years clinical experience (including hospital-based experience) preferred
• 2 years leadership experience (including hospital-based experience) preferred
• Eligible for academic appointment at relevant educational institution as appropriate
