Job Summary:

CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager in the Health Care and Well-being Program. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will interact with leading experts within the health and well-being, and worker and public safety program areas, to facilitate discussions amongst key stakeholders and develop leading edge solutions for the advancement of a diverse portfolio of national standards.

The Health Care and Well-being portfolio is comprised of standards that facilitate safety, quality, performance, and risk management. This includes, but is not limited to, standards for health care facilities, technologies, and systems. Examples of topics include facility infrastructure, long-term care, medical devices, digital health, infection prevention and control, community paramedicine, mental health, as well as accessibility for persons with disabilities and sports-related equipment.

The incumbent may also take on projects within the Worker and Public Safety program which is comprised of standards addressing occupational health and safety (OHS) (e.g., personal protective equipment, occupational diving, working at heights, machinery and equipment safety) and public safety (e.g., transportation of dangerous goods standards, OHS standards for public safety personnel, disaster and emergency/business continuity management systems and practices, public transportation vehicles).

Responsibilities:

  • Initiating and executing projects from start to finish, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

  • Establishing and managing project processes and schedules, resource requirements, costs, quality, and risk.

  • Assessing standards' needs, and developing business cases and plans to address the needs.

  • Developing proposals and contracts, and conducting financial analyses for new projects.

  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships and networks with stakeholders, with the ability to work well with people at all levels and with divergent interests.

  • Liaising with internal and external partners including clients, management, legal, and finance to obtain project buy-in and approvals.

  • Identifying research topics and participating on research projects to help generate knowledge to inform standards and advance the program strategy.

  • Other related responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • A post-secondary degree in health sciences or similar field

  • A PMP designation is an asset

  • A minimum of 5 years project management

  • Standards development experience in a relevant field

  • Knowledge of the health and safety standards industry, government policy, or industry landscape

  • Significant experience writing proposals, grant applications, and business plans

  • Strong strategic and business development skills to assess and advance new opportunities.

  • Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills. Detail and process oriented with the ability to successfully execute and deliver projects.

  • Top-notch people skills: managing relationships, facilitating and networking with people at all levels with divergent interests, backgrounds, and goals.

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.

  • Polished oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in technical writing

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

  • Strong computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software, project planning software, etc.).

  • High degree of self-motivation, resilience, adaptability, and flexibility.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and build capacity of peers.
