In the Diagnostic Imaging at SJHC, the Technologist Assistant (TA) will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team in the capacity of an unregulated health care provider. The TA practices under direct supervision and guidance of the Radiologist, Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, and with direct oversight of the regulated health care professionals, either Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) or Registered Nurse (RN). The TA will ensure an efficient workflow in the area and will be accountable to provide support to both the patient and the Technologist, as needed. Unity Health Toronto (UHT) St. Joseph's Health Centre is currently accepting applications for the Technologist Assistant role from students currently enrolled in Medical Radiation Technology (MRT), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) programs as well as those who have clinical experience elsewhere or are awaiting CMRITO registration. TA's will be hired on contract, during which the TA will work part-time hours to a maximum of full-time hours (37.5 hours per week). The scheduling of these hours will be determined based on unit needs and may include day/evening/night and weekend and holiday shifts.
