PAY RANGE: $34.68 to $41.80

JOB SUMMARY

SWCHC is looking for an experienced certified Lactation Consultant to work within our busy Primary Health Care Clinic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing pre & postnatal breastfeeding education, counselling and support to obstetrical clients and their families.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Current license with the College of Nurses of Ontario or other health professional with current licensure
  • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  • Current CPR (preferred)


Professional Experience

  • Three to five years of Lactation Consultant experience within a community or clinic setting.


Key Competencies

  • Knowledge of primary health care and the social determinants of health.
  • Able to work effectively in an inter-professional environment.
  • Knowledge and awareness related to cultural competence.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged communities.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Language Capacity

  • English required.
  • French or other language(s) an asset.
