What We Need:

We are seeking an innovative, self-directed individual with exceptional leadership qualities to support excellence in clinical practice and education within the Inpatient Surgery unit at Oak Valley Health while contributing to a strong organization-wide interprofessional practice environment. As an educator for the Inpatient Surgery you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and safe environment for both staff and patients. Your effective communication skills will be instrumental in providing clear and constructive feedback to support the ongoing development of staff. Your leadership abilities will shine through as you promote a culture where speaking up for safety is encouraged, talent is identified and nurtured, and positive leadership influences the team. You will be responsible for curriculum development, classroom instruction, clinical training, assessment, mentorship, staying updated on healthcare advancements, collaboration with institutions, and engaging in research to enhance nursing education and improve patient care. This educator role requires someone with a proactive and positive mindset, taking initiative in the face of challenges and demonstrating a service-oriented approach. In addition to supporting the resource team there will be corporate education and training required of the role to support organizational initiatives.

What you bring to the role:

· Current registration with the CNO in good standing

· Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

· Masters degree in nursing with education focus is required or in progress

· Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Medicine Cardiology is required

· Experience teaching and training adults and employing adult learning principles preferred

· BLS instructor with Heart and Stroke preferred

· Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)

· Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate

· Expertise in the delivery of formal and informal education/coaching

· Expertise in curriculum development, classroom instruction, clinical training, assessment and evaluation

· Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and interprofessional collaborative practice, communication, and organizational skills

· Proven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking and problem solving

· Proven evidence of ongoing professional development

· Computer proficiency, preferably in MS office and Meditech EMR

· Demonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard

· Demonstrated commitment to a safe environment for staff, patients and families by working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related Hospital policies

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, Days

Compensation:

Band H:

Hourly - $42.33 - $60.59
