JOB PURPOSE

The Occupational Therapy Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical supervision for the provision of assessment, consultation and clinical occupational therapy services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A university degree in a related field.
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • Must have three years experience as an occupational therapist in a health care setting,
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Occupational Therapy Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Assigning, overseeing, reviewing and evaluating service delivery
  • Planning, directing and evaluating therapy programs and services
  • Providing staff orientation and coordinating staff development programs
  • Serving as a professional practice leader
  • Developing and/or ensuring compliance with standards, policies and procedures
  • Coordinating or participating in student placements
  • Performing the work of an occupational therapist
