Fraser Health is embarking on a journey to implement MEDITECH Expanse, the most up to date version of MEDTECH’s Clinical Information System, which will transform the way we deliver health care services to improve quality and patient safety; better patient and care-giver experience through seamless access to data and information.

With the modernization and implementation of major IT projects of BC healthcare system, providers (that’s physicians, midwives, and Nurse Practitioners) leadership and involvement is a key success factor in this process. At this newly created Provider Engagement and Adoption Lead position, you will play an instrumental role in engaging Fraser Health providers in the major IT projects including Advance program. You are expected to work closely the providers and provider leaders, Fraser Health leaders, and project team members, to identify opportunities for better collaboration and engagement with the providers, build strong trust and relations, and lead problem solving and continuous improvements along the entire project life cycle.

Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Reporting to the Project Director, Integrated Plan of Care (IPOC), the Lead Provider Engagement and Adoption is an integral leader to achieve adoption, evaluation and ongoing quality improvement deliverables. This role will work collaboratively with local physician champions and ACMIOs to identify solutions for clinical, operational, and financial requirements through all stages of design, configuration, validation, and testing of the Advance digital solutions under CMIO. The Lead will support ongoing physician engagement, readiness, and evaluation/outcome measurement. This will ensure that the clinical information system adoption strategy renders the intended benefits with respect to utilization at the direct care level, improved patient care and health outcomes, is aligned with leading clinical practice standards, and enacts the Advance vision into all aspects of the transformational learning, evaluation, and sustainment strategies.


Responsibilities

  1. Leads and supports the strategy and change management initiatives to support provider practice in the adoption of Meditech Advance, in alignment with the strategic road map for Digital Health transformation.
  2. Provides oversight and recommendations to provider change management efforts and guidance on engagement strategies.
  3. Focuses on quality of providers’ experiences; supports CMIO efforts in providers engagements around adoption of Meditech Expanse.
  4. Liaises with local physician champions and ACMIOs to identify clinical, operational, and financial requirements.
  5. Leads and supports cross-functional teams and designated provider experience liaisons, sets priorities, assigns work and monitors to ensure teams meet deadlines and objectives.
  6. Supports translation of provider requirements into technical and workflow-based solutions.
  7. Acts as a change agent/escalation point for clinical issues and constraints relevant to providers, in the identification, development, planning, implementation, and sustainment of clinical informatics strategies in support of quality patient care and professional practice.
  8. Facilitates solution finding to improve technical systems, work processes, and providers experience.
  9. Directs and coordinates the completion of core deliverables to ensure they are of high quality. These deliverables include, but are not limited to:
    • Physician engagement strategies including change management/adoption plan;
    • Program evaluation strategy, plan and summary reports; and
    • Outcomes and compliance (e.g., CPOE monitoring) reports.
  10. Leads communications with providers and provider groups via various channels.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences Professional field, Clinical Informatics, or related discipline, plus five (5) to seven (7) years' recent, related experience in project management experience in a complex health care setting required; a clinical background and health informatics experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and initiative; deal with frequent and random changes; and make decisions regarding a wide variety of complex business matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to use database, spreadsheet, and word processing software at an advanced level.
