Postdoctoral Fellowship

Purpose

The position is open for researchers with interests in either partial differential equations (PDE) or number theory.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will conduct research in either partial differential equations (PDE) or number theory and teach two mathematics courses. If the candidate’s research interest is in number theory, they will be actively involved in various research projects with Dr. Alia Hamieh and Dr. Stanley Xiao on topics in analytic number theory, analytic theory of L-functions, arithmetic geometry, and arithmetic statistics. If the candidate's research is in PDE or related fields, they will be actively involved in various research projects with Dr. Mohammad El Smaily on topics in reaction-diffusion equations, nonlocal diffusion, mathematical ecology, and traveling waves. We encourage you to apply if you have experience and familiarity with these topics.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a PhD or equivalent degree or expect to receive one before July 1, 2024. The position typically requires a PhD obtained in 2021 or later; however, if your PhD was obtained before 2021, we invite you to describe your career trajectory including any interruptions in your cover letter.

Salary

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The starting salary will be $50,000.00.

Normal hours of work will be 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday.
