Description: Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations or Program Manager, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is employed in a variety of settings across the continuum of care including acute care and continuing care. The NP uses an evidence-informed holistic approach that emphasizes the nursing professions' values, expertise and education. The majority of time is spent in clinical practice where the NP role includes, but is not limited to, diagnosing and managing common and complex health conditions, promoting health and preventing illness/injury, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmaceuticals, medical devises and other therapies and performing procedures, interventions and/or treatments. The NP performs restricted activities within their scope of practice as defined by Schedule 24 of the Health Professions Act, the Registered Nurses Profession Regulations, and the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). In some clinical settings, the NP is considered the most responsible provider. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUNP Collective Agreement. Qualifications Classification: Nurse Practitioner Union: AUNP Unit and Program: Hospital Medicine Primary Location: Grey Nuns Community Hospital FTE: 1.00 Employee Class: Regular Full Time Date Available: 01-Sept-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $62.74 Maximum Salary: $72.00 Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program at a Master of Nursing level. Must possess relevant and recent clinical expertise within stream of practice. Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Nurse Practitioner. Must be appropriately licensed with the clinical practice stream relevant to area of clinical employment. Additional Required Qualifications: Proven ability to adapt to shifting clinical priorities and collaborate effectively with multiple physician teams across diverse specialties. Demonstrated capacity for self-direction, with a strong track record of working independently while maintaining excellent clinical judgment. Exceptional leadership skills, including the ability to collaborate with ER staff, support interdisciplinary teamwork, and contribute to ongoing clinical education for patients and families. Relevant and recent clinical expertise within stream of practice is desired but will grow and develop new graduates in this role. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous NP experience in an Acute Care setting is a bonus, but we welcome new graduates to this role. Previous experience caring for patients designated Hospital Medicine Service is an asset.

Requirements
Candidates must have a Master of Nursing and be eligible for licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) certification is required, and the role is open to both experienced practitioners and new graduates.
