About the role
Children’s Centre Thunder Bay works together with families, caregivers and a community of partners to make a real difference in the quality of life of children and youth. We are an accredited, not-for-profit organization providing treatment and support services for children and youth, from birth to 18 years, who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, developmental or social difficulties. The Centre is currently seeking to fill the following position:
One Full-Time Care Navigator, Youth Wellness Hub
Union Position – 35 hours weekly
Hourly: $33.60 - $40.88

The Youth Wellness Hub for the City and District of Thunder Bay will be a youth friendly, culturally safe, low barrier “one stop shop” for youth ages 12-25 to access a wide range of services and support. Core services will include walk in mental health and substance health counselling, primary care, peer mentorship and system navigation. Also available will be employment support, sexual health, life skills and recreational activities. Traditional Indigenous ceremonies and land-based activities will be facilitated at the Hub. It will provide high-quality integrated youth services to support the well-being of young people.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required

The Care Navigator of the Youth Wellness Hub position requires:A degree in Social Work at the honours level. Consideration may be given for degrees in psychology, or relevant health or social science field) and registration with a professional body considered an asset (Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers). Lived experience will also be considered.

1-2 years of experience in healthcare or the social services sectors and working with children, youth, families and caregivers.

A valid Ontario Driver's Licence

Available evenings, weekends and travel within the district.
