Job Description: This position works as part of an interdisciplinary primary health care team. Under the direction of Primary Health Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals.

Experience One (1) year community nursing experience Experience in a community rural setting Experience in community development and health promotion 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care Education Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Specialization Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Competencies Organizational skills Leadership skills Advanced - Counseling skills Critical thinking skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge in health promotion and prevention strategies Knowledge in applicable principles of nursing process and interventions Knowledge in wellness and holistic models of health care Knowledge in assessment, treatment, and consultation Ability to be flexible and willing to change Other Information Ability to travel when required Broadview is located approximately 104 km southwest of Yorkton May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP) For more information on the town of Broadview please visit http://broadview.ca/ May be eligible for the Rural & Remote Recruitment Incentive of up to $50,000
