Position Summary

Psychologist, Eating Disorder Your goal in this position is to provide clinical leadership and support in the implementation of evidence based best practices in the treatment of eating disorders in Children and Youth. You may also conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, and provide individual, family and group therapy to children, and youth (and their families) with Eating Disorders. The psychologist is expected to be an active member of the interdisciplinary team providing family centred care. As well, the psychologist is expected to provide a range of clinical services in collaboration with individuals, families, community agencies, and other professionals. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. On a practical level, you will

Use multi-modal approach to provide outpatient therapy in individual and group settings. Treatments include Family Based Treatment (FBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) and CBT for ARFID. Provide consultation to medical and mental health staff Lead in the development of policies and procedures relevant to the Eating Disorders Program. Lead in the development, planning and implementation of new therapeutic programs based on clinical needs Lead in developing and implementing policies regarding patient care and professional practice Initiate and participate in research, program evaluation and quality assurance activities Access new developments within the profession and arranges appropriate rounds, education sessions with team members Participate in training and supervision of staff and students as designated Provide education to the hospital staff

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Psychology Registered member in good standing or eligible for registration, in the area of clinical psychology, with the College of Psychologists of Ontario Experienced in various modes of individual and family therapy for children, youth, and families experiencing social, emotional, and behavioural problems Experience with Eating Disorder treatment modalities. Related clinical experience in children’s mental health agency or hospital setting Bilingualism in French/English an asset
