Wanted: Full-Time Osteopathic Manual Practitioner in Ottawa
Ottawa Osteopathy & Sports Therapy is currently looking for a dedicated full-time Osteopathic Manual Practitioner to join our team. We are now in our 17th year of operations and are proud to have treated over 14,000 patients. We currently have multiple full-time DiplOMPs with well-established practices and a waitlist for new patients.
Based in central Ottawa, our clinic caters to the active population, sporting community and residents of the surrounding region. With over 1.4 million people, Ottawa is currently Canada’s fastest-growing city.
About Ottawa Osteopathy & Sports Therapy
Working within a multidisciplinary treatment model, we encourage collateral learning from among practitioners and use a team approach to patient care. Our practice provides quality, personalized services in the areas of injury prevention, treatment and improved performance in sport. A significant portion of our patients consult for acute care, chronic pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, concussions, women’s health conditions and pre- and post-natal care, among other conditions. Our Osteopathic Manual Practitioners use musculoskeletal, visceral, and cranial techniques in both classical and focused approaches, depending on the patient’s individual needs.
Our multi-disciplinary team offers osteopathy, physiotherapy, athletic therapy, kinesiology, running assessments and strength and conditioning. As a group, we’re easy-going but serious about evidence-based care. Some of our team have worked with us for 12 and 16 years. Our newly built clinic offers bright rooms with large windows, high-quality adjustable tables, and a rehabilitation gym. We offer an educational allowance, in-service clinic education meetings, mentorship, and a well-established demand for osteopathy. We also have a full-service reception to handle scheduling (online and in person), payments, direct billing to insurance and provide administrative support.
Our clinic receives regular referrals from sports medicine physicians, family physicians and allied health care practitioners from across the city and beyond. We are also involved with educational programming with the University of Ottawa’s Sport and Exercise Medicine Program.
For practitioners considering relocating: Ottawa is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Gatineau Park, the Greenbelt, Rideau Canal and the Ottawa River offer trail running, hiking, cross-country skiing, camping, paddling, skating, cycling, and more.
The Ideal Candidate
Good standing with the OAO
An interest in working with and learning from a multi-disciplinary team
Experience in treating sports injuries
A strong understanding of exercise and program design to complement the benefits of osteopathic manual practice
Previous training in athletic therapy or physical therapy is an asset, but not required
Bilingualism - English/French is also an asset, but not required

- to make representation and submissions to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, the Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council, the Government of Ontario and others for the enactment of such legislation;
- to represent and advocate the position of the members in Ontario, consistent with the public interest in safe, effective and ethical osteopathic health care, before administrative tribunals, health institutions, other professional organizations, the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, regulatory colleges, the provincial and federal governments and to the public;
- to provide continuing educational programs in order to advance the knowledge of osteopathy in Ontario; and
- to promote the common interest and activities of the members in Ontario.
