About the Job The Registered Nurse: • Provides nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team • Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers • Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice • Maintains and advances own clinical competence • Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:45, 19:30 to 07:45 hours.

About this Location Our Intensive Care and Step-Down Unit is a beautiful, state-of-the-art department consisting of 17 private patient rooms, five of which are negative-pressure isolation rooms. The fully equipped ICU provides an aesthetically appealing environment for patients and features a new family entrance, a waiting area and quiet room for family privacy, improved functional design, enhanced infection control and support space for the staff. RNs work 12-hour shifts with HCA support.

Qualifications • Graduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). • Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.
