Overnight Newborn Care Specialist About the role: As an Overnight Newborn Care Specialist, you will provide compassionate, non-medical overnight support to families welcoming a new baby. Your role is to create a calm, reassuring environment that allows parents to rest while ensuring newborns receive attentive, professional care throughout the night. You will provide routine newborn care, support parents during the postpartum period, and deliver a consistent experience that reflects the standards of Postpartum Partners.

Responsibilities Provide attentive overnight newborn care in the family’s home. Prepare and feed bottles or breast milk according to parents’ instructions. Change diapers, soothe infants, and support age-appropriate sleep routines. Maintain accurate records of feeds, sleep, diaper changes, and relevant observations. Support parents with reassurance and practical guidance while working within a clearly defined non-medical scope. Perform light household duties directly related to newborn care, including bottle washing, sterilizing feeding equipment, organizing nursery supplies, and baby laundry where appropriate. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout each shift. Recognize concerns that require escalation and promptly notify parents or emergency services when appropriate. Communicate professionally with both families and the Postpartum Partners team. Deliver every shift in accordance with Postpartum Partners’ care standards and operating procedures.

Qualifications We’re looking for compassionate, dependable professionals who genuinely enjoy supporting new families. Preferred qualifications include: Minimum 2 years of professional experience caring for newborns, infants, postpartum families, or in related caregiving roles. Experience as a newborn care specialist, postpartum caregiver, nanny, infant caregiver, early childhood educator, or similar role is considered an asset. Current Infant & Child CPR certification. Current First Aid certification. Clear Criminal Record Check. Excellent professional references. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence. Comfortable using scheduling platforms, secure messaging, and digital care documentation. Ability to work overnight shifts reliably. Reliable transportation to client homes within the Metro Vancouver area.
