About the role
- Tests, troubleshoots, plans, repairs, installs, modifies, evaluates and maintains refrigerators, ice machines, small air conditioner equipment and system; such as; Blood Bank, Kitchen, Nursing Floors refrigerators, Ice machines and small (0-5) ton air conditioner units or systems.
- Applies current engineering practices, City, State, Federal and JCAHO codes to develop, install and correct malfunctions, equipment and systems kitchen, ice machines, lab, nursing floor air conditioner units.
- Performs preventive maintenance, safety checks and inspects equipment and systems in accordance with department and Hospital guidelines and procedures. Repairs equipment in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all ice machines are clean, inspected and tested to meet infection controls procedures.
- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance (Federal CFC requirements) and safety, participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
- Assist other Plant & Maintenance personnel and perform other work related duties as requested or assigned.
*Sign On Bonus Eligible! High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational Training. Mass Refrigeration and Technicians License. Minimum of Type 2 EPA Certification.
