JOIN OUR TEAM! We are looking for a motivated Spanish Speaking Settlement Worker to join our BCSIS team! Not sure if you're 100% qualified? We encourage you to apply anyway! POSITION FUNCTION: The Settlement Worker provides direct client service and program delivery support. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct Services Conduct comprehensive one-on-one needs assessments to identify clients needs and develop guided support pathways and individualized settlement plans. Assist newcomers in navigating and accessing resources and information in areas such as housing, employment, workers’ rights, healthcare, mental health, finances, digital literacy, education, immigration, and community services. Organize, facilitate, and lead life skills information sessions, workshops, and social activities that promote integration, skill development, and self-sufficiency. Develop individual work plans outlining clear action steps and timelines to support clients in achieving their goals. Provides one-on-one basic employment-related information, support, and referrals; Providing basic information about the labour market, job search tools, and referrals to available programs Assist clients in credential accreditation Stay informed of current resources, emerging trends, service gaps, and evolving needs within the broader community, with a focus on refugee claimants, asylum seekers, international students, naturalized citizens, and other immigration status groups, in addition to programs and services at MOSAIC. Accurately enter client information and services/activity information into OCMS in a timely manner Meets a minimum number of unique clients per week and program-specific clients per month as assigned by the manager as part of the Funding Contract Agreement Publicize MOSAIC programs/services to ethno-cultural minority communities and service providers Support the development of program materials and resources, including flyers, posters, and PowerPoint presentations.

Community and Communication Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, training, events, and partnership activities. Assists the Manager in the development of Settlement Services and partnerships with service providers Mobilize community resources and support client engagement in accessing services. Develop an outreach plan/strategy to proactively deliver services to newcomers, and represent MOSAIC in the community to advocate for newcomers’ needs As requested by the manager, represent MOSAIC or the interests of the ethno-cultural minority community on community forums and consultation and round tables.

Data, Reporting & Standards Maintain accurate OCMS records, case notes, and reporting documentation. Meet caseload, output, and outcome targets as per contractual agreements. Track and report newcomer integration outcomes and sponsorship milestones. Assists in the preparation of reports as needed for the organization and funder of all program activities and services QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge: Working knowledge of Program/project development; community development; refugee sponsorship and settlement services; case management; life skills facilitation; trauma-informed services; documentation processes; confidentiality; and standard office equipment and software applications: MS Office suite, and databases. Knowledge of OCMS is an asset.

Education/ Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree and/or Certificate or Diploma in Social Services, Counselling, or related field, and/or suitable combination of professional experience in humanities, social sciences, social services, settlement, or sponsorship. Skills/ Abilities: Ability to speak and write in Spanish due to demographics of clients served Advocacy Ability to maintain professional boundaries while being supportive Conflict resolution and mediation skills Crisis awareness and de-escalation skills Ability to response to high-stress situations Organized and able to set priorities and meet deadlines Able to work independently and with a team Attention to detail Tactful, discrete, diplomatic, patient, flexible Digital literacy (email, databases, online applications, virtual service tools) Problem-solving and analytical skills Cultural awareness Ability to support clients with complex barriers Facilitation and presentation skills English verbal/written communication skills (technology assisted okay) Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing stress, trauma, or crisis Customer service skills

Experience: Experience or intimate understanding of living as a person with disabilities. Ability to manage a high workload and multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality of service. At least 1-2 years of experience in community development, sponsorship, settlement, case management, working with immigrants, refugees, or people from diverse cultural backgrounds; cross-cultural service delivery, and or experience related to Private Sponsorship programs.

Other: Current, satisfactory Criminal Record Check required by policy, law and/or employment contract HOURS: 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be working between 5575 Boundary Rd. Vancouver, and 310 & 315 - 7155 Kingsway Burnaby and must be able to commute on a daily basis. Fixed term contract until March 31, 2027 BENEFITS: A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
