For further information, visit the ministry website at https://www.alberta.ca/hospital-and-surgical-health-servicesThis position resides in the Ministry of Hospital and Surgical Health Services under the Acute Care Division, within the Provincial and Clinical Programs Branch.Role Responsibilities The clinical specialist's responsibilities are to provide knowledge and technical advice to develop regulations, policy, strategies and actions to advance the Ministry's commitments:• Provide clinical expertise and policy advice to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of regulations, policies, strategies, and initiatives aligned with Ministry priorities.• Conduct research, literature reviews, environmental scans, and data analysis to inform policy recommendations and decision-making.• Develop briefing materials, correspondence, reports, presentations, and communication products for executive leadership and stakeholders.• Support issues management and communication strategies related to regulatory and policy initiatives.• Interpret and provide advice on legislation, regulations, standards, and policy requirements to internal and external stakeholders.• Review, update, and develop administrative forms, procedures, manuals, and related resources.• Identify and support innovative acute care programs, strategies, and models of care through evidence-based approaches.• Collaborate with colleagues, government partners, health system stakeholders, and working groups to advance key health system priorities.• Build and maintain strategic relationships and represent the branch, division, or ministry on committees, projects, and cross-government initiatives.• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional competency and meeting tight deadlines.Please click on this link to view the job description for this position.APS Competencies Competencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans. Health Provider) and four (4) years of related experience. Current registration in good standing with an Alberta professional college.Equivalency: Diploma related to the position assignment and six (6) years of related experience. Must be a regulated member of the appropriate college if required by the Health Professions Act. Master’s degree related to the position assignment and three (3) years of related experience. Must be a regulated member of the appropriate college if required by the Health Professions Act. Preferred:• Knowledge of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), and clinical practices related to MAID in Alberta, nationally and internationally.Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
