Department/Unit/Program Description
The Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) Laboratory is provincially accredited by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare and provides the following onsite services: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Phlebotomy and Electrocardiograms. In addition to the onsite services, RMH has partnered with other Ontario Laboratories such as Public Health, Dynacare and Peterborough Regional Health Centre, to facilitate a larger scope of testing.
The laboratory is committed to the provision of a quality laboratory service that ensures delivery of clinically relevant, accurate and timely diagnostic services. The welfare of the patient and respect for the dignity, privacy and independence of the individual is paramount at all times. The laboratory supports the hospital-wide vision to be leaders in the development and delivery of a dynamic and integrated health care system by establishing excellence, efficiency and quality in all areas of the quality management system.
Position Summary
The Laboratory department is currently looking for a Casual Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their healthcare team.

Essential Qualifications
Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science Demonstrated ability to deal co-operatively and effectively with all levels of staff, patients and the public Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Recent general core Laboratory (Hematology/Chemistry/Blood Bank) experience Epic knowledge/experience
Hours of Work
Must be available to work 8 hour day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement.
