Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, a collaborative team player, and has a genuine passion for animals and client care.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Client communication
• Patient intake and initial assessments
• Placing IV catheters and collecting blood/samples
• Taking radiographs (X-rays)
• Preparing and administering medications and vaccines
• Surgical preparation and anesthetic monitoring (pre-op, intra-op, and post-op)
• Assisting veterinarians during surgical/dental procedures
• Conducting in-house lab testing (blood, urine, cytology)
• Educating clients on medication use, home care, and preventive care
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient medical records
• Performing minor procedures such as nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expressions, suture removal, and bandage changes
• Managing clinic inventory including medications and supplies
• Supporting veterinary office assistants with daily operations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology program
• Current registration and active license with the BCVTA
