Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Substance Use Health Manager or designate, the Integrated Care & Wellness Worker provides individual and group-based treatment services to adults participating in a structured day and evening substance use health treatment program. The Integrated Care & Wellness Worker supports evidence-informed, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented treatment approaches to address substance use health and co-occurring mental health concerns.
This position works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to support client engagement, treatment progression, and successful transitions to ongoing recovery supports.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of a diploma or degree in Social Work, Substance Use Health, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field. Registration or eligibility for registration with a relevant professional body is considered an asset.
- Strong assessment, intake, and case coordination skills
- Effective group facilitation, program development and client education abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of substance use treatment, recovery processes, and harm-reduction approaches
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and PHIPA
- Cultural safety awareness and the ability to provide services in an inclusive and respectful manner
- Computer proficiency and ability to work with electronic databases and documentation systems
- Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Substance Use Health Manager or designate in relation to service requirements.
- must possess a Class G Driver’s License
- must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
- must complete a criminal records check
- must complete a medical and receive the required immunizations as recommended by the local medical officer of health.
Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week
