About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our McKesson Technology Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) Data Architecture and Engineering organization. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data solutions and products that support our strategic initiatives in supply chain modernization and analytics. The Senior Data Engineer will work in a collaborative environment, partnering with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, BI developers, data architects, and delivery leaders to create scalable, governed, and high-quality data products.

This individual will play a key role in enabling rapid experimentation with AI and machine learning, operationalizing successful use cases, and monetizing insights to drive business value. The role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to align data architecture with enterprise standards and governance frameworks. The successful candidate will contribute to transforming data into actionable insights that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions and optimize business operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of extensive experience in data engineering, focusing on building robust data solutions and products. At least 3 years of proven experience in data architecture, enabling enterprise-wide data solutions. Hands-on expertise with Azure cloud platform, Databricks, and Snowflake data warehousing technologies.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy cloud-native data applications and pipelines utilizing Azure and Databricks to support advanced analytics and digital capabilities across pharmaceutical business domains. Manage offshore and nearshore teams to deliver validated, governed, and scalable data products, promoting best practices in metadata management, data lineage, and domain-driven design. Collaborate with data and platform architecture teams to ensure data product designs align with enterprise architecture standards and governance policies. Establish and enforce best practices related to data quality, scalability, and performance. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to global engineering teams to foster continuous improvement. Define standardized dimensional models, ontologies, and semantic structures to ensure data interoperability and consistency across diverse data domains. Apply AI-enabled SDLC practices and automation to enhance system performance, reduce technical debt, and accelerate the delivery of data products. Drive seamless data integration across platforms, champion modernization through Azure-native technologies, and optimize workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
