Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Carer to provide attentive support for a family member. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in caregiving and experience working with individuals with disabilities.This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life through personalized care and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
• Assist with regular exercise such as walking and light physical activity
• Engage in recreational or stimulating activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction
• Support with medication management as needed under supervision or guidance
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement to foster a positive atmosphere
• Adapt care routines based on the family member's evolving needs and preferences

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience:

• 1 year to less than 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience working with persons with a disability is required
• Prior experience teaching or engaging children is a plus

Certifications (must be current and valid):

• CPR Certificate
• First Aid Certificate

Security & Health:

• Criminal record check required
• Must be able to pass any relevant health screenings required for caregiving roles

Transportation:

• Valid driver's licence required
• Own transportation required

• Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience
• Skills in cooking, meal preparation, and light cleaning are highly desirable
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a family team
• Dependable, organized, and genuinely caring
• Comfortable working in a private family home setting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Physically demanding role
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling required
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
