Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

This course strengthens occupational therapy processes of practice with individuals experiencing physical health conditions. Building on OCCU 5016 , it emphasizes more complex conditions, assessments and interventions. Lectures will focus on physical health conditions, assessments, and intervention approaches. Labs will focus on applying clinical reasoning and developing practice skills for assessment, intervention, and documentation. Students will integrate learning from courses across this term through case-based activities.

We are looking for up to six part-time instructors for the Fall 2026 term (up to 25 hours each/term). Under the guidance of the Course Instructors, each Instructor will tutor and evaluate groups of students using problem and case-based learning in Occupational Therapy Skills Labs and / or evaluate groups of students in Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).

Instructors will be required to be on-site for:

Sep 21 (12:30-3 pm) Sep 28 (12:30-3 pm) Oct 5 (12:30-3 pm) Oct 26 (12:30-3 pm) Nov 30 (12:30 – 3 pm) Dec 7 (12:00-5 pm, OSCE )

Instructors may be required to attend on-site special events labs or exams on alternative days with advanced notice. Other off-site preparation, marking and/or office hours may also be required. Instructors are required to attend an orientation session prior to the academic term (to be scheduled). As time permits, other duties may be required to assist with Lab/ OSCE preparation and/or delivery.

Qualifications/Requirements Of Position

An entry-to-practice qualification in occupational therapy and current registration as a licensed occupational therapist are required. A Master’s degree is an asset. Excellent communication and organizational skills and scheduling flexibility are required. Clinical experience (adults and/or pediatrics) in a mix of inpatient and community settings is preferred. Technological access to the Brightspace platform will be required.

Salary Range/Pay Rate In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement
