About the position:
We are seeking detailed-oriented, team-focused Anesthesia Assistants (AA) with expertise in anesthesia procedures and patient care to join the team. This position involves preparing, testing, and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies, as well as performing a range of invasive and non-invasive procedures. The AA will assist with airway management, IV medication administration, and patient monitoring during surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, assisting with sedation and anesthesia in various settings, and supporting anesthesia providers in a variety of procedures. The role requires a strong understanding of anesthesia equipment, patient care, and emergency response protocols. Additionally, the position demands proficiency in monitoring vital signs, ensuring the safe and efficient management of patients through all stages of anesthesia.

Completion of an accredited post-graduate Anesthesia Assistant diploma program. Current certified clinical anesthesia assistant (CCAA). Registered or associate member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy (CSRT). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Anesthesia Society (CAS), eligible for membership in the BC Society of Anesthesia Assistants (BCSAA).
Current certificates in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
