Indspire is seeking a Development Officer, Partnerships to secure funding for Indspire events and programs. The Development Officer will manage and maintain excellent relationships with corporate sponsors and donors by ensuring that benefits are fulfilled and reported on, to secure continued levels of support to achieve Indspire’s mission and mandate.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be:

Managing and growing a portfolio of corporate sponsors and donors contributing up to $25,000 annually by building meaningful relationships, providing exceptional stewardship, and achieving annual fundraising revenue targets. Developing and executing annual fundraising plans by identifying and engaging new corporate prospects, expanding existing partnerships, and securing sponsorships and donations that support Indspire's programs, high-profile national events, and student funding initiatives. Leveraging existing sponsorship proposals, cases for support, and presentation materials to engage prospective partners, tailoring content to align with funder priorities and completing online funding applications as required. Collaborating across teams to develop a deep understanding of Indspire's programs and communicate their impact to corporate audiences in compelling ways. Preparing, negotiating, and ensuring the execution of sponsorship and gift agreements with corporate partners and donors. Maintaining accurate records of partner engagements, agreements, and reporting requirements in Indspire's donor database to inform relationship management and fundraising strategies. Attending Indspire events and external networking opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and cultivate new corporate relationships. Identifying and facilitating meaningful employee engagement opportunities that combine giving and learning, helping corporate partners connect with Indspire's programs and advance their reconciliation commitments. Coordinating the timely delivery of sponsor recognition, impact reports, and other stewardship commitments to ensure an exceptional partner experience.

Qualifications

Completion of a college diploma or university degree. Minimum two years of success in fundraising, sponsorships, or corporate partnerships role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build authentic relationships, present compelling cases for support using existing fundraising materials, and adapt messaging based on donor and organizational needs. Excellent customer service, organizational, and administrative skills, ensuring professional and efficient support to sponsors and internal teams. Strong writing, presentation, and relationship management skills. Knowledge of Indigenous communities and cultures is an asset; openness to learning and cultural humility is essential. Strategic thinker and self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Experience using CRM software (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingualism in English and French is an asset. Ability to travel within Canada and work occasional evenings or weekends, as required.
