What you can expect as a Volunteer at Thrive Group: Meaningful learning experiences to build your career skills Opportunities to connect with residents, staff, families, and visitors The chance to meet new people Guidance and support in your volunteer role Letters of reference for prospective employers Volunteer Responsibilities: Set up and prepare the café area for service Operate the tuck cart and café service Handle cash transactions (cash only) Serve occasional kitchen specials provided by the dietary team Maintain a clean and welcoming café environment Clean tables, sweep floors, and assist with general café upkeep Foster positive relationships with residents, staff, families, and visitors through excellent customer service Qualifications/Skills/Expectations: Must be 18 years of age or older Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Friendly, positive, and enthusiastic attitude Good communication and listening skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Reliable and consistent attendance Comfortable handling cash transactions Teamwork; able to work with a variety of people Understand the need for confidentiality Vulnerable Sector Police Check Job Type: Casual/Volunteer (unpaid) Locations: St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke (125 Redfern Ave. Hamilton) Questions? Thrive Group provides back-office support to our member organizations which allows for our teams to focus their efforts and resources on providing exceptional front line services. Thrive Group also extends its professional capabilities as fee for service solutions to external organizations who need support in their business operations.
