About the role
The Opportunity:
The Ministry of Social Services, Child & Family Programs requires Emergency Duty Workers to fill permanent positions in the community of Fort Qu'Appelle and area. Emergency Workers will be responsible for providing after-hours emergency services to families. This role will report to a Child and Family Supervisor. This position is an on-call, rotational position, and hours are not guaranteed; standby pay is given while on rotation but not actively responding to calls. The hours will vary depending on the frequency of emergency callouts that the employee receives.
In this position you will: - Develop and maintain open, honest working relationships and encourage teamwork with clients, foster families, biological families, collateral agencies, and colleagues within the unit and community. - Apply knowledge of multicultural beliefs and values, with particular emphasis on First Nations and Métis perspectives. - Apply understanding of poverty, systemic barriers, and socio-economic issues and their impact on individuals and families. - Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services and resources, remove barriers to independence, and promote overall wellbeing.
