Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner at the Duck Lake Primary Health site provides primary health care to children, youth and adults in the communities of Duck Lake, Beardys First Nation, Wakaw, Rosthern and Cudworth. This is a general practice where a wide range of health care needs are met, including women's health, children's health, mental health support as well as community development.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- Three (3) years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C)
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to perform clinical/health assessment
- Ability to implement holistic, comprehensive care to individuals/groups/families
- Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
- Pharmacotherapeutic intervention skills to the scope of practice of RN (NP) role
- Demonstrates capacity for visioning, goal setting and utilizing change theory
- Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care
- Ability to handle difficult situations resulting in productive outcomes
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
- Ability to promote a collaborative and team approach
- Ability and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and environments
- Demonstrates capacity to plan, implement and evaluate multiple assessments
- Demonstrate communication skills to create positive outcomes/build relationships
- Demonstrates educational skills & strategies produce positive healthy outcomes

- Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
- May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives
- One (1) year nursing experience in a primary health care setting preferred
