Description:

The Executive Director, Psychiatry and Mental Healthcare Outpatient Services, is a key leader in collaboration with operational and medical leadership to execute strategic priorities aligned with provincial program strategies and Recovery Alberta’s comprehensive plans. This role oversees the integration and management of essential psychiatry and mental healthcare outpatient services including Child/Youth, Adult, Rural Remote, and day hospital/day treatment programs while fostering crucial partnerships within Recovery Alberta. Collaboration is paramount as the Executive Director works closely with other leaders to ensure that integrated programs enhance client care and effectively engage with provincial teams to inform and shape strategy development and implementation. This position requires establishing an operational framework to support service delivery and developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic service redesigns and clinical programs in partnership with physicians and management, ensuring ongoing alignment with Recovery Alberta’s objectives. The Executive Director will also lead policy development to support service delivery and foster innovation by cultivating strong relationships across programs and with leadership. Resource management is crucial; the Executive Director will partner with operational and medical leadership to direct clinical operations, manage HR matters, and oversee succession planning. They will ensure the effective deployment of human resources in a safe, inclusive workplace while responsibly allocating fiscal and capital resources and managing budgets. In relationship management, the Executive Director will build strong connections with both internal and external stakeholders including community officials and advisory councils while maintaining strategic partnerships with RA leadership to advance shared objectives.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of seven years in a management role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Progressive leadership experience in primary healthcare over the past seven years.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the area of Primary Health Care preferred. A master’s degree in a health discipline Preferred.
