Medical Office Assistant (MOA)

Location: Chilliwack Job Type: Full-Time Start Date: As soon as possible

Schedule

  • Monday ? Thursday: 8:30 AM ? 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM ? 2:00 PM

An established family physician clinic in Chilliwack is seeking a professional, experienced, and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside six physicians and allied health professionals in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment. This position offers opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients while accurately collecting demographic and health information
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient bookings efficiently
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMRs)
  • Provide administrative and clinical support to physicians and healthcare providers as needed
  • Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person with exceptional customer service
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and diagnostic services accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with EMR, computer, and technical management
  • Help manage clinic inventory and supplies to support smooth daily operations
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize workflow and patient experience
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of patient information
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by clinic management

Qualifications & Skills

  • Completion of a recognized MOA program or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Oscar EMR is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
  • High level of discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and patient-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving clinic needs and responsibilities
  • Website management experience an asset.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and privacy regulations (PHIPA/FIPPA)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Wage: $24/hour (Adjustments made based on experience)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Extended health benefits available after 3 months
