Job Description

The Student Counselor provides comprehensive counseling services to students, addressing their academic, personal, social, and career development needs. This role requires a skilled and compassionate individual who can create a supportive and confidential environment for students to explore their challenges and develop effective strategies for success.

Responsibilities

Conducting counseling sessions for students. Consult with faculty, staff, and parents regarding student concerns and make referrals to appropriate resources, both on and off-campus. Develop and implement outreach programs and workshops to promote student well-being and prevent mental health issues. Conduct assessments to identify student needs and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions. Creating annual reports Overshadowing and supervising junior psychologists Planning the annual calendar Overshadowing and planning workshops and events Conducting workshops for students, faculty, and staff

Requirements

Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. BA/BSc in Psychology Psychologist with 3-5 years’ experience in academic institutions needed for a part-time role. Experience in providing counseling services to students in a higher education setting (preferred). Strong knowledge of student development theory and counseling techniques. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
