Salary: $75000.00 - $90,000.00

Job Description

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Assist the General Manager with staff supervision and overall operations of the Environmental Services, Janitorial department ensuring workflows are efficient and all standards are met for Alberta Health.

  • Provide direct supervision daily in order to monitor processes and client satisfaction.

  • Manage staffing functions including training, education and development of front line and supervisory employees.

  • Provide coaching, performance management and discipline as required.

  • Schedule to determine appropriate staffing levels to maintain level of service and efficiency according to the collective agreement.

  • Participate in company and stakeholder meetings, leadership calls and labour management.

  • Perform inventory and complete month end reports

  • Report new processes, improvements and innovative ideas to the company and client.

  • Participate in maintenance and submissions of reports and records as required for Ministry or other stakeholders.

  • Plan, execute and maintain annual fiscal budgetary expectations.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Post-secondary education in management, business or related field (or comparative experience in lieu)

  • 2 years’ minimum experience in front line operations, preferably within an Acute Care Healthcare environment

  • 2 years minimum Management experience of a similar business portfolio, preferably within a Healthcare environment

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Experience leading in a Unionized environment

  • Must have the ability to complete First Aid certification within a short period of time of hire

  • Immunization requirements prior to beginning work and Vulnerable sector criminal background search

  • Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety

  • Commitment to customer experience, client relations and service excellence

  • Proficiency with financial reporting applications including labour management systems

  • Experience with employee management: recruitment, training, performance management, recognition development of employees, team building

  • Strong communication skills including written, oral and interpersonal communications

  • Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office products

  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking (multi-tasking and organizational skills
