Position Description:
The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences of McGill University is seeking to recruit an outstanding clinician scientist for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the field of oral pathology/oral medicine.
The selected candidate will be expected to conduct world-class independent research, successfully compete for external grant funding, and contribute to a dynamic training environment at DMD, graduate and postgraduate at McGill. Job Duties:
Successful applicants will be expected to:

Develop and maintain a funded research program of the highest international standards in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences and be actively engaged in grants competitions.

Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining and enhancing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Supervise graduate (MSc, PhD) students at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences.

Provide teaching and training activities at DMD, Graduate and Postgraduate level and supervise the clinical work of students;

Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, and other knowledge translation activities.

Participate in service to the Faculty, university and academic community.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Applicants must have a D.M.D. or D.D.S. or equivalent from an accredited school and have successfully completed specialty training in both oral Medicine and Oral Pathology in a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada or the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the United States, or equivalent. Applicants must be eligible to be licensed by the Ordre des dentistes du Quebec.
- Applicants must have a PhD in Oral Medicine/Oral Pathology or a related area and at least one year of postdoctoral fellowship.
- In accordance with career stage, candidates are expected to demonstrate evidence of recent clinical practice and high quality teaching, inclusive pedagogy, and supervision of a diverse student body.
- An outstanding record of research/scholarly activities: A record of research funding, quality of publications in top ranked, internationally recognized journals, presentations at significant national and international conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees of international stature. Applicants with a research program focused on other aspects of oral medicine and oral pathology will also be considered.
- A record and interest in innovation and knowledge transfer.
