Rotation/Shifts
Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 8 and 10 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
Baccalaureate or Diploma from an accredited institution majoring in health sciences or a related discipline; Certified as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or willing to obtain registration within 18 months; (successful candidates who are uncertified will be at 95% of Step 1 until registration is complete). Certified as a Health Care Professional in a field recognized by the board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT); Good knowledge of electrodiagnostic instrumentation and equipment; Knowledge of polysomnographic equipment and supplies; Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications; Sound knowledge of human anatomy, neuroanatomy, physiology and basic electronics; Eligible for Certification in CPR and/or First Aid; Good written and verbal communication skills; Good interpersonal skills; Good problem solving skills; Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).
The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.
