About Student Wellness And Equitable Learning At Humber

Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL) is a part of Student Success and Engagement. The cross-functional team includes Student Connection and Community Care, Residence Life and Education, Accessible Learning Services, Mental Health Services, Health Promotion, and Clinical Services.

About The Student Experience And Wellbeing Specialist Role

The Student Experience and Wellbeing Specialist is a senior, integrative role within Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL) at Humber Polytechnic. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean, SWEL, the Specialist serves as the connective tissue of the department — holding together the strategic, analytical, and communicative functions that enable SWEL's units to work toward shared outcomes with coherence, accountability, and impact. This role reflects the department's commitment to evidence-informed practice, curricular integration, and a whole-division approach to student success and wellbeing.

The Specialist leads four interconnected areas of work: (1) championing and operationalizing the SWEL Pathways for Learning and Wellbeing (Curricular Framework) as the primary mechanism through which departmental planning, service design, and communications are organized; (2) coordinating cross-departmental assessment, data analysis, and reporting, working in close partnership with the team to gather and consolidate monthly and annual reporting; (3) designing and facilitating shared learning and professional development experiences for SWEL staff and leadership, including Connect Days and leadership team development; and (4) leading integrated planning processes and student voice mechanisms, including ownership of the Student Advisory Committee.

The Specialist also conducts and coordinates research and environmental scans to inform service planning and strategic direction, and leads internal and external communications that position the Pathways for Student Learning and Wellbeing as the narrative lens through which SWEL's work is understood and communicated. This is a high-order professional role that requires a graduate-level credential and deep expertise in student affairs, curriculum, assessment, and organizational learning. The Specialist is a member of the SWEL senior leadership team and contributes to the strategic direction of the division.
