Pharmacist, Antimicrobial Stewardship

Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Senior Level
Temporary

About the role

This is a temporary contract for up to Eighteen (18) Months

Apply your expertise in diverse clinical settings—including intensive care, surgery, rehabilitation, and women’s and infant’s health—while driving system-wide improvements that shape antimicrobial prescribing across disciplines. At Sinai Health, antimicrobial stewardship goes beyond individual treatment decisions to scalable interventions that enhance prescribing behaviours hospital-wide.

This role provides the opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary efforts aimed at promoting sustainable changes in prescribing practices by incorporating quality improvement principles and behavioural science. For pharmacists seeking to expand their impact, this role offers the chance to influence broader practices, bridging clinical expertise with system-wide improvements to improve patient outcomes

Is this you?

You are an effective communicator who can confidently engage with clinicians from various backgrounds to drive change. Whether discussing prescribing behaviours or suggesting interventions, your ability to tailor your message to the audience fosters trust and supports collaborative action. In this role, you’ll influence prescribing practices by navigating complex interactions and promoting system-wide improvements in antimicrobial stewardship.

If you possess a strong foundational knowledge in antimicrobial pharmacotherapy, this role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise through collaboration with experienced pharmacists and physicians. While prior antimicrobial stewardship experience is not required, exposure to infectious disease management will be valuable as you work to integrate clinical information with the latest literature. You’ll use this knowledge to define optimal patient care while contributing to broader clinical guidance.

Are you someone who thrives on variety and dynamic challenges? Each day offers the chance to focus on diverse patient subsets, where emotional intelligence is key to navigating complex clinical interactions and responding to patient needs.
