About the role

We are hiring for a relief (temporary) part-time 0.52fte Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. This opportunity is anticipated to run until the return of the current incumbent. This role supports a variety of outpatient services for Videofluroscopic Swallowing Studies, Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing, Swallow Assessments/treatment, and communication assessment/treatments for adults.

Shift times/Hours of work: 08:45 to 16:15

About the role:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is an autonomous professional who has expertise in typical development and disorders of communication as well as assessment and intervention in these areas. The Speech-Language Pathologist may work directly with clients and/or with their caregivers or other persons who regularly interact with them for the purpose of creating environments that promote optimal communication. The Speech-Language Pathologist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research and education.

Full practicing licensee as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
One year’s clinical experience with adults in a hospital setting and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid BC Driver’s license where required.
