The Opportunity This position is based at our Ottawa office within the Point of Care division and requires on‑site presence. As the night shift Supervisor in Wafer Fab Operations, you will be a key member of our leadership team. In this role you will have the chance to provide direct supervision for the night shift operation in a clean room environment. You will work to sustain and continuously improve results for people safety, product safety and efficient productivity in order of priority to drive positive business results. What You’ll Do Support existing safety related metrics and work to develop new and innovative approaches that prevent safety incidents in the Wafer Fab. Develop and execute training plans to achieve business goals. Ensure on-going training of staff to maximize cross training for ample coverage when staff absent (vacation or illness). Ensure 100% on-time training for compliance. Interpret company goals into department/team goals and ensure communication of established goals, objectives, operational policies and procedures to staff. Motivate employees through interpersonal interactions on a regular basis, mentoring, fostering creativity, innovation and empowerment. Execute build plans to meet daily and monthly targets while optimizing capacity, efficiency and ensuring quality compliance Support and monitor key performance indicators. Ensure immediate action is taken to prevent falling below targets. Develop staff loading and team schedules, plan capacity of team personnel, achieve high equipment utilization, oversee wafer supply to wafer print and assembly, and ensure efficient flow of materials in and out of production areas Work cross functionally with other departmental teams for resolving manufacturing issues including engineering, equipment technicians and other shift supervisors Ensure that operations are compliant with quality guidelines and follow written procedures. Some direct processing of product will be required by the shift supervisor. Shift: nights D shift extended, 6:30 pm to 6:30 am Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday. A minimum of 75% of work hours are in-room in the manufacturing areas. Required Qualifications Knowledge of company product and components. Three years' experience in a Manufacturing or laboratory environment. Understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Reaction Schemes. Exceptional interpersonal skills to be able to deal with people on all organizational levels and work in a team and multi-shift environment. Strong computer skills including Windows, spreadsheets, MS office programs including PowerPoint and Excel, MES software and applications for WIP management, timekeeping, performance management, document/training control. Proven planning and problem-solving skills. Leadership skills and coaching ability. Ability to work in a multitask environment and the ability to make quick informed decisions. Ability to work under pressure. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $59,250.00 to $86,900.00. The salary range provided applies to Canada only and does not apply to any other locations outside of Canada.
