Job Title: Advanced Wound Care Consultant
**Availability: Full-time – Central Zone (**Home-Based with Travel)

As part of our continued growth, we are excited to introduce a new opportunity for an Advanced Wound Care Consultant for central zone to join our team.
Position Scope:
The advanced wound care consultant plays a critical role within the healthcare team by addressing the needs of clients and residents with complex wound care needs to support optimal clinical outcomes. Through the application of evidence-informed practice, the wound consultant leads and facilitates improvements in wound care across the continuum of care, including home and community settings as well as long-term care. Key responsibilities include providing clinical consultation, program support, education, and capacity building to healthcare teams, with a focus on strengthening prevention and management practices and enhancing overall quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:

Evidence**-Based Program Development:**
Collaborate with long-term care (LTC) and continuing care partners to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based wound prevention and management programs -
StakeholderEngagement & Collaboration:
Build strong partnerships with service providers, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to advance best practices in wound care across the continuum. -
Education**&**Resource Development:
Design and deliver education, tools, and resources to strengthen clinical competency in wound assessment, prevention, and treatment. -
Knowledge****Translation (Theory to Practice):
Support healthcare teams in applying evidence-based wound care practices in daily clinical settings to improve patient outcomes. -
ContinuousLearning& Capacity Building:
Foster a culture of ongoing learning by supporting skill development and enhancing clinical capacity in wound care. -
Program****Implementation & Evaluation:
Deliver training initiatives and evaluate effectiveness to ensure continuous quality improvement in wound care practices. -
Documentation**&**Reporting:
Monitor, document, and report on program outcomes and clinical improvements related to wound care. -
ClinicalCompetency Support:
Promote adherence to evidence-based wound care standards and support ongoing competency development across care teams.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), or graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Registered and in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Successful completion of a recognized wound care program required (e.g., IIWCC, NSWOC, or equivalent advanced wound care certification or graduate-level education in wound management)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience in wound care, with experience in home/community care and/or long-term care
- Minimum of 1 year of related leadership experience is required
- Consideration may be given to completion of the Wounds Canadas Sharp Super Program or Wound Care Champion Program. Institute (WOC Institute) Skin Wellness Associate (SWAN) Program
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and evidence-informed practice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, internet-based tools, learning management systems, and virtual learning platforms.
- This position is home-based, with regular travel to facilities and partner sites within the zones.
