About the role
Job Summary Provide direct practical nursing care to patients in a healthcare setting under the direction of registered nursing staff. Deliver safe, compassionate care while contributing to documentation and care planning. Number of Positions 3 Main Duties Assess and monitor patient health status by taking vital signs, observing condition, and reporting changes to registered nurses or physicians. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and documented care plans, ensuring accurate documentation. Perform wound care, catheter care, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice and facility policies. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including mobility support, bathing, dressing, and feeding when required. Maintain accurate patient records, update charts and electronic health records, and provide thorough handover at shift changes. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to implement care plans and provide patient and family education. Requirements Completion of a recognized practical nursing diploma or certificate program. Current registration or licensure to practice as a practical nurse in the applicable Canadian province or territory. Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification or equivalent. Demonstrated clinical experience in acute care, long-term care, community, or similar healthcare settings. Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting and transferring patients as needed. Effective communication skills in English or French as required, and basic computer literacy for electronic charting.
