About the role

Job Description As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide community visits to assess abilities and needs of individuals while working with multidisciplinary teams. You will work independently with primarily adult clients in their homes on a face to face basis, or in a virtual capacity for those living outside of the region. Why you’ll love working here: Electronic Documentation Flexible scheduling options Comprehensive health and dental benefit plans Mileage compensation Employee well-being perks What you’ll do: Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of healthcare workers and other community resources Provide assessments in a home setting based on presenting impairment or diagnosis using standardized tools You will see individuals with a wide variety of concerns including but not limited to clients recovering from stroke or other neurological problems, thus conducting speaking and swallowing assessments Design a care plan using evidence-based information, relevant best practice guidelines, and clinical expertise Partner with our client’s family members, caregivers and other healthcare professionals regarding care goals and service plans. Maintain professional client records related to client encounters and plans in compliance with ParaMed’s policies and the standards applied by the regulatory body or CASPLO. What you bring: Registration with the provincial College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (in good standing) Accepting New Graduates Licensed Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR A valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) “This is a Unionized environment to a pre-assigned geographic area around Owen Sound, ON” This is a New Position Time Type Part time As the leading home care provider in the country, ParaMed Home Health Care, has proudly been helping Canadians live better at home since 1974.
