Position Summary
We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Support Services Worker to fill a Casual position at the Mackenzie and District Hospital and Health Centre.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position
Laundry Worker II:
Performs a variety of duties for Laundry Services such as operating and loading/unloading designated equipment, and collecting, weighing, sorting and preparing linens in accordance with established standards and required operational procedures. This position may also provide supervision to designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments and determining related training and orientation requirements.
Environmental Services Worker:
Maintains clean and disinfected conditions in areas such as patient/resident/client rooms, Operating Rooms, Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory, Labour and Delivery Rooms, washrooms, corridors, hallways, lounges, offices and common areas used by staff, visitors and patients/residents/clients as established in Northern Health Regional Housekeeping Policies and Processes.
Food Service Worker II:
Assists the Cooks, blending, slicing, preparing salads, vegetables, sandwiches, and portioning desserts, measuring and combining food and beverage ingredients. Sets up and portions, with accuracy, patient trays and / or resident meals including therapeutic diet items according to nutrition care plans. Prepares items such as tea, coffee and toast. Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils and performs general cleaning. Serves staff meals and oversees the collection and receipt of cash for items purchased which may include punching meal tickets.
Qualifications

Grade 10
-
Plus one years' recent related experience in a commercial or industrial laundry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience and experience.
Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Ability to operate related equipment.

Ability to organize work.

Some knowledge of washing ingredients.
