Program Volunteer Opportunity

Meet AdaptAbilities.

AdaptAbilities is a nonprofit organization that provides meaningful programs for children, youth, and adults with disabilities across Edmonton and St. Albert. Volunteers play an important role in helping create supportive, inclusive, and engaging environments where participants can build confidence, independence, friendships, and community connection.

Why Volunteer With Us?

This opportunity is ideal for students, aspiring professionals, community members, or anyone looking to gain hands on experience while making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Orientation and training are provided, and volunteers are supported throughout their experience.

The Position:

We are currently recruiting volunteers for our Community Connect and after school programs which operate year-round across multiple locations in Edmonton and St. Albert.

Working alongside program employees, volunteers will:

  • Support participants in community-based activities
  • Assist employees in providing care and supervision
  • Foster positive, inclusive, and meaningful interactions
  • Help create safe, welcoming, and supportive environments
  • Encourage independence, skill development, and community participation

Families rely on us for consistent and reliable care, so we are looking for volunteers who are compassionate, dependable, and committed to creating positive experiences for participants. Volunteers for these programs are asked to commit to a minimum of one weekly or biweekly shift, with each shift being 6 hours/3 hours depending on program, for a six-month term. This helps support consistency for our participants and families.
