RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary
Department / Research Program: Surgery/CRP
The Clinical Research Coordinator – Nurse is responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies. They collaborate with investigators and health care teams to assume responsibility for the overall patient management and coordination of several clinical studies for Dr Metrakos at the RI-MUHC. The incumbent will be under the direction of the immediate supervisor, Dr A Lazaris, the candidate will also be co-supervised by the Biobank manager, Ms S. Petrillo, for Biobanking activities. The incumbent will be required to interact with patients and maintain records.
General Duties
Under The Direction Of The Immediate Supervisor, The Incumbent
Executes all aspects of study visits. He collaborates with the entire medical care team, Performs clinical evaluation of the participants according to the protocol requirements, Performs various types of injections, blood collections, Consenting of patients: This involves pre-screening new patients for all surgeons, approaching patients in clinic, following up with patients that provided verbal consent and need obtain signed paper consent, keeping paper and electronic records of all consents.

Education / Experience
Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Nursing
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s degree
Work Experience: 2-3 years
Professional Membership: ☒ Yes: OIIQ
Required Skills
This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French. An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, part-time: 21 hours
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Other or part-time
Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
