About the role
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Prosthodontics residency programs. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Tasks: Clean teeth. Diagnose dental diseases . Examine patients' teeth, gums and surrounding tissue. Hire and train staff. Instruct patients on oral hygiene . Plan dental health treatment. Administer budget. Restore, extract and replace diseased and decayed teeth. Perform oral surgery, periodontal surgery and other treatments. Design bridgework, fit dentures and provide appliances. Write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for use by denturists and dental technicians. Act as consultants to other dentists. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Specialization licence. National Dental Examining Board of Canada Certification. Area of specialization: Prosthodontics. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
